When I took off the tag and button off my teddy, Annie's, in college---not having a clue what grandmother had left me---I just thought it ruined the natural look, but I told myself, I will always remember the name Margarete Steiff, though had only vague idea of Steiff bears, much less a Margarete Steiff bear.
Annie looks like what I've seen of 1905 circa online...she has cinnamon mohair fur, the round head of a cub, wide set ears, amber glass eyes, and soft short hair on her muzzle, which is shorter than typical Steiff's. She growls if you tilt her, and she has fawn felt pads. Her body is rounder and softer lines than the usual image one has of Steiff's.

I am sure she is a limited edition, but how can I have her legitimized by someone who can validate that I indeed took off a Steiff button and that Annie is indeed a legitimate Margaret Steiff teddy. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kate.

Some other good advice. When we eat our fair share of easter eggs, let's make sure we buy fair trade chocolate.
I was reading an article pointing out that the biggest US chocolate maker, Hersey isn't bothered about the farms it is sourcing its cocoa from.

Here is the link to the article that I am referring to:
